The Boots of Escaping were first released as a reward for collecting 50 artifacts during the Treasures of Doom dynamic event that took place during Halloween 2014. They were subsequently made available for a few other 'Treasures' events that followed. However, beginning with the Treasures of the Undead Lords that released with Publish 109, they were made to be Shard Bound, and these later versions cannot be transferred with any Character Transfer tokens. This makes the original versions more valuable since they do not have these restrictions.

There were also Gargish versions available called the Talons of Escaping.
