How do I give money to a NPC to Bribe for a better BOD ?

I tried dropping the money (200 gold) gold but he took it and did not update my BOD...

I guess I need to give him the money in a different way, but how ?

His Menu does not have an option for "giving money" for a Bribe so how does one do it ?

He will take it automatically from your bank when you accept his offer by dropping the bod onto him for replacement.
