Transmogrification Potion
Transmogrification Potion
A Transmogrification Potion transfers the magical properties of one item onto another item of the same equipment slot but a different visual style. The destination item ends up with the source's properties on the destination's appearance — the standard tool for "I want my optimised suit but in the look I prefer." Sold on the Ultima Store for 700 sovereigns per potion. Not available on Siege Perilous or Mugen shards.
Slots
Transmogrification potions exist for the following slots:
(No body, leg, glove, or arm transmogrification potions exist at present.)
Compatibility Rules
The source and destination must share certain core properties for the transmog to succeed:
- Medable / non-medable parity — if the source is medable, the destination must also be medable (either by material choice or by the Mage Armor property). If the source is non-medable, the destination must be non-medable; if the destination carries Mage Armor it must be removed (NPC mage guildmaster, 250,000 gp; can be re-added afterward provided the item has fewer than five properties and is not an artifact).
- Quivers transmogrified onto non-quiver items lose their arrow-holding function. The visual transfers; the slot semantics do not.
- Armor refinements block transmogrification. Items with refinements applied cannot be transmogrified.
- Destination must be vanilla — the destination item must carry only its base properties for its item type and no other magical properties. The destination is essentially a blank canvas.
Using the Potion
Double-click the potion to open the gump:
- Set Source Object — target the item you are transferring properties from.
- Set Destination Object — target the item you are transferring properties to.
- Confirm — properties move; the destination retains its own hue.
Transferred attributes:
- Magical properties — fully copied.
- Unique name — if the source has a unique name (Doom artifact name, event name, etc.), it transfers to the destination.
- Blessed status — retained on the destination.
The transfer is permanent and cannot be undone. Transmogrified items cannot be imbued, reforged, or enhanced afterward, and refinements cannot be applied to a transmogrified item — the item exits the system as a final-form artifact.
Special Transmog Targets
Several event items and a Veteran Reward have been designed specifically as transmog destinations — they are exempt from the "vanilla destination" rule and carry the structural shape that makes them clean transfer targets. Current set:

Notable Exception
The Tabard of Virtue is not a transmogrification target. The visual is acquired through a separate process — the Tabard is infused with the properties of Hawkwind's Robe via the Jolly Roger (Shrine Battles) mechanic, not via a transmogrification potion.
