Buccaneer's Den
Buccaneer's Den (commonly Buc's Den) is the Den of Pirates and Thieves — UO's lawless island city, located on the large island on the southeast edge of Brittany Bay. It is less of a city or town than a collection of hovels and huts where privateers, pirates, thieves, and murderers can hole up to avoid the law or prepare for their next excursion. With the exception of a few blacksmiths who provide weapon and armor repairs, nearly all items of technology found on the island are stolen — plundered from coastal cities or from misfortunate shops. Buc's Den has no government in either Trammel or Felucca; it is the canonical outlaw refuge of Britannia.

The bank's name — "A Place Fer Yer Stuff" — captures Buc's Den's casual, piratical attitude toward formal civic structures. The Magical Gate provides the mainland link without requiring a long sea voyage.

Felucca-aligned culture
Buc's Den is functionally a Felucca-aligned community even on Trammel — the Thieves' Guild has historically kept a cell here, and characters with murder counts find the village a tolerable refuge from town guards (though the actual game-mechanics rules now apply guard-spawn equally to all towns, the lore-flavor remains Felucca-style).
The Stratics-archive BNN: Pirates Sell Buccaneer's Den? documents a piratical-economic crisis in which the actual ownership of the village was put up for sale — illustrating the village's precarious civic structure. BNN: Buccaneer's Den Plagued by Strange Fires and BNN: Buccaneer's Den Still Owned by Orcs chronicle other crises.
High Seas relevance
With the 2010 Adventures on the High Seas booster pack, Buc's Den became more relevant — the piratical economic infrastructure (smuggler vendors, pirate-themed crafted items, pirate-dialogue NPCs) was expanded. Pirate Pet Hatchlings and Parrot pets sell here.
